Protecting paradise

Situated in the heart of the Island, Kowhai Farm spans approximately 347 hectares of flat, well-drained land, supporting 1,250 milking cows. The farm is fully equipped with modern irrigation systems, including pivot and solid set irrigation, ensuring consistent coverage across the property. At the eastern end, you’ll find a state-of-the-art 70-bail internal rotary dairy shed, fitted with the Read milking plant technology and a range of labour-saving features. These include in-bail feeding, ADF milking clusters, electronic cup removers, Allflex collar-technology and drafting gates. Commissioned in 2018, it’s the first replacement shed and the newest addition to the Island. Led by Cristian Gutierrez and a dedicated team of five.
